jQuery BlockUI Plugin lets you simulate synchronous behavior when using AJAX, without locking the browser. When activated, it will prevent user activity with the page (or part of the page) until it is deactivated. BlockUI adds elements to the DOM to give it both the appearance and behavior of blocking user interaction.

Changes in Version 2.0:

- Elements are no longer removed from the DOM when unblocking
- The default overlay color is now black instead of white
- The available options have been consolidated and sanitized
- The way in which options are passed to the plugin has changed
- Support for Opera 8 has been dropped
- The internals have been restructured for improved readability
