Drool is a command-line tool that automates the mundane tasks
of managing Drupal Web sites on a server and also offers a few more
novel features. It can create new sites, install modules and themes
directly from drupal.org, and clone one Drupal site to another.
Drool helps you rapidly design themes by automatically skinning
images (i.e. chopping and slicing them up for CSS scaling) onto
regions of a theme.
Requirements:
· apache2
· mysql-server
· python-imaging
· python-mysqldb
· python (>= 2.4)
(e.g. sudo apt-get install apache2 mysql-server python-imaging
python-mysqldb)
Optional:
libapache2-mod-cband - for per site bandwidth monitoring.
Note:
PHP will be required for Drupal (e.g. sudo apt-get install
libapache2-mod-php5 php5 php5-mysql)
INSTALL DRUPAL
Download and unpack drupal to some web-accessibly directory,
like '/somedir/drool', so that the drupal path is like this:
'/somedir/drool/drupal-5.5'.
INSTALL DROOL
Download the source file, uncompress it, enter the folder and
run:
$sudo python setup.py install
CONFIGURE DROOL
Edit the file /etc/drool.conf and set appropriate values for
your server.
