ANDREW 1.2

ANDREW 1.2 is video software developed by Alessandro Di Rubbo.
ANDREW's Not a DVD Ripping and Encoding Wizard, but an interactive wrapper or a BASH script to simplify the use of OggEnc, MEncoder and mkv/ogmmerge to create, from a DVD, one or more Matroska or Ogg Media files containing an ISO/IEC  MPEG-4 Part 2 compliant video track, encoded using FFmpeg libavcodec or XviD codec, one or more AC-3 or Vorbis audio tracks, a chapter index and, optionally, one or more subtitle tracks.



ANDREW is free software, released under GNU General Public License.

What's New in This Release:
Bug fix: If the value of AUDIO_LANG_COMA in the configuration file was null, ANDREW didn't work.
Bug fix: If the DVD contained some invalid language codes, ANDREW didn't work.
Bug fix: Maybe only on some systems, displayed mean quantizer values were incorrect and, consequently, resolution optimisation didn't work correctly.
Bug fix: Pressing return to confirm the previous megabyte input was possible even if the previous input was out of the new range of allowed values.
Bug fix: Pressing enter to confirm the previous part input didn't work.
Bug fix: Too long file names were allowed, even if an error message was displayed.
Bug fix: If ANDREW reduced the quality of Vorbis audio encoding, the estimation of Vorbis audio tracks size was incorrect.
Bug fix: ANDREW read and executed commands from configuration files.
Bug fix: Messages displayed because of missing dependencies were incorrect.
Bug fix: Language names including u letters in their original names were displayed in English.
Added VobSub and SRT subtitle support for Matroska files. Changed -L option in -C; added -T and -L options.
Added all to the -l option allowed arguments to encode all the audio tracks of a DVD.
Added norm to the -g option allowed arguments to normalise the volume of Vorbis audio tracks.
Changed the unit of the -b option argument in bit per pixel.
Allowed both relative and absolute paths as arguments of -i and -o options.
Added support for multiple running instances of ANDREW in the same working directory.
Improved the way of exiting and removing temporary files.
Licensed the documentation files with the GNU General Public License.
ANDREW 1.2 supports english interface languages and works with Linux.
