cinit is a fast executing, small and simple init with support for profiles.
And it has a simple configuration, which makes many shell-scripts unecessary (but you still could use them if you really want), which leads to better performance and less memory using.
What's New in This Release:
A new SIGCHLD handler has been fixed.
Initial cleanups for a real release have been made.
This is the first 0.3pre version that can handle respawning.
cinit 0.3pre5 supports english interface languages and works with Linux.
Downloading cinit 0.3pre5 will take several seconds if you use fast ADSL connection.
