Description:
uxdstools package contains UNIX directory service tools. A
suite of command tools in the vein of the useradd/mod/del, etc
tools found on Linux and and Solaris, pw tools on BSD,
mk|ch|rmuser/group tools on AIX, etc. However, their use is not to
manipulate local accounts, but POSIX-type accounts that can be
found in LDAP directory services installations, namely those with
posixAccount and posixGroup attributes.
Known to compile and work on Linux, FreeBSD and Solaris. (Sun
with 0.5) Consider it alpha software, use at your own risk.
Here are some key features of
"uxdstools":
· Add, delete, and modify POSIX accounts located in an
OpenLDAP (other implementations are untested) directory service
from the command line.
· Supports SASL binds including GSSAPI, with Cyrus-SASL
and Heimdal Kerberos if they are present.
· With GSSAPI support, a kerberos ticket can be obtained
directly using the tools and chosen LDAP operations will utilize
that authentication context.
Requirements:
· OpenLDAP 3.x
· Cyrus SASL 2.x (optional)
· Heimdal (optional)
What's New in This Release:
· You can now add and delete memberUids from group
accounts with lgroupmod.
· When a user's primary group is changed with lusermod,
the gidNumbe attribute of the new POSIX group account is looked up
and placed into the gidNumber attribute of the POSIX user
account.
· Created man pages for each executable. They are not
formatted correctly, but they display OK. TODO: fix this.
· Password options (-p/-P) work now with -c when GSSAPI
is enabled. The cache will be placed where the -c arg input tells
it to. (basically using putenv() when needed with KRB5CCNAME)
· Moved lacctparse.c in line with the rest of the code
to use args.c. This involved eliminating the parsedata struct and
two char pointers that didn't need to be in a struct anyway.
