It includes an advanced multi keyword search tool with a combined dictionary of over 530,000 indexed keywords. Keywords are indexed to appropriate codes even if they are not contained in the actual code description. Keyword searches are lightning fast, even on older Palm handhelds. Bluefish has concentrated its efforts on making the desired code quick and easy to find via multiple routes. You can search for codes by: Drilling down through a proprietary database of ICD-9 Disease and CPT Procedure Categories. Searching by the code number. Searching by one or more keywords. The keyword search is what makes this tool so unique and powerful and will likely be your primary method for finding a code. You no longer need to search through the various disease categories to find a code that may be in one of many parts of the category tree. Entering a keyword will display all possible codes associated with that keyword. As you enter the letters of a keyword a list of possible words are displayed. Enter only as many letters as required to view the desired word. Once this word is displayed, tap on the keyword to view the associated codes. If this doesn''t narrow your search sufficiently then just enter a second, third or more keywords until you have narrowed your search to one or a handful of codes to individually view. BluefishRx's ICD-9/CPT keyword search engine enables you to search by common terms that are not necessarily part of the code description. For instance searching tinea capitis in Bluefish ICD-9 yields three possible codes: 110.0 Dermatophytosis of scalp and beard 110.9 Dermatophytosis of unspecified site 704.9 Other alopecia Most other coding tools would yield no results for a search based on these words, as they are not contained in the code description.
