Many dealers use a form with purchase price, down payment,
trade-in, and the number of payments, and a payment amount.
(Usually interest rate doesn't appear on the form.) Sometimes,
while discussing a car purchase, the values in the various sections
can get confusing. 4 Square makes it easy to keep track of
the changing values in the squares, and figure out the missing
number. If you have the payment amount, a tap gives the interest
rate, or vica verca. After entering all of the other (known)
values, the undefined variable, whichever one it is (monthly
payment, interest rate, number of payments, down payment, etc.) is
revealed by 4 square with a tap of your stylus.
To give the 'missing' value, 4 square needs all of the others
(some of which might be zero, like trade-in). So if only a payment
amount has been given, and the price and interest rate are unknown,
you will have to enter an estimate for one of the two missing
values. The other will be calculated. 4 Square is similar to
the piece of paper on which you would write the various numbers and
estimates, except that it does the math for you.

top of all of the numbers at all times during the process.
