Description:
Do you find yourself fumbling for references when asked to do a
preoperative evaluation? Do you wish there was an easier way to
produce comprehensive preop reports? Are you a medical student,
Housestaff, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant who are just
learning how to do preoperative evaluations and would like some
help with gathering data or formulating risks assessment and
recommendations? Are you a Hospitalist or a clinician who has to do
preop evaluation at the patient?s bedside and want portable
references and automated report generator?
If you are then PocketPreop is the ideal program for you. The
program is structured around a standard H&P but focuses on
clinical findings that can affect surgical risk. The program uses
check boxes and radio buttons so that you can quickly collect
clinical data. Pre-formatted texts are produced from the selections
to save you time. Risk indices and guidelines from the ACP,
ACC/AHA, and ACCP are integrated within the program so you don?t
have to hunt around for those references. The program also offers
recommendations on perioperative management of diabetes, stress
dose steroids, DVT prophylaxis, and anticoagulation. The final
report can be saved in a text format for final editing and printing
on a desktop PC. Simply export the text file from your my documents
folder to your desktop.
On line help can be found by clicking on the ? button for each
screen.
This is a single user, single use program. You must complete and
save your report before starting a new report. You must complete
and save your report before closing out the program or else all the
data will be lost. Pocket PCs do allow you to multitask so you can
switch to other programs and return the PocketPreop without losing
your data.
Although, every attempt has been made to verify the clinical
content of this program, it is the ultimate responsibility of the
individual clinician to verify the content. Journal references are
provided within the program. Clinical practices and opinions tend
to vary. If you would like for us to customize the program to fit
your institution or individual practices, please contact us. If you
would like an enterprise version of the program that allows
multiple users to share a common database, please contact us.
