Join in the Christmas festivities this year with the Pocket
Christmas Carol Player, which plays over 20 well-known Christmas
Carols. Watch the onscreen keyboard playing the tune and see the
musical notes whizzing by, or better still dive in and play them
for yourself! Pocket Christmas Carol Player will show you which
notes to play and when. You can change the musical instrument
sounds, speed the playing up, slow it down, or even let it
automatically adapt to your style of playing. Pick the backdrop
from a number of Seasonal backdrops, or let the Pocket Christmas
Carol Player pick them for you. We've even included Auld Lang Syne
and bagpipes for that traditional New Years Party too. Key Features
(Purchased Mode)
An auto-play on-screen musical keyboard allows you
to watch the keyboard player playing music based on the standard
piano / synthesizer keyboard layouts.
An onscreen musical manuscript shows the Carols
melody in musical notation as it is played.
You can choose from a number of sounds - pipe
organ, oboe, saxophone, clarinet and others. You can even pick
different sounds for the backing to achieve more orchestral
sounding effects. The sound can be optimised for the internal
speaker, or for hi-fi and headphones. Pocket Christmas Carol Player
uses high quality audio synthesis to produce sound that has to be
heard to be believed - particularly when using hi-fi /
headphones.
If you want to play the Carols yourself then
Christmas Carol Player will help you - it will show you which note
to play next on the onscreen keyboard and when. It will also name
each primary key on the keyboard and automatic musical
accompaniment provides backing as you play - Pocket Christmas Carol
Player's artificial intelligence can adapt the backing speed, to
match your playing speed as you are learning. As your playing
becomes more advanced you can even try different ways of playing -
using the stylus in different ways you can glide (gliss), or play
staccato.

documentation includes a detailed beginners guide on how music
works and how to read it.
Trial Mode Pocket Christmas Carol Player operates
in two modes. By default it operates in trial mode, which limits
some of the features, allowing it to be tried before purchase.
Following purchase the licence key can be entered and the software
becomes fully functional. This application requires the compact
framework to be installed on your device - new devices have this
installed by default - others will need it installing. It is
available at microsoft.com for download.
