Features
Print Invoices
Invoices can be printed on any infrared, Bluetooth or serial
printer. They can also be saved as plain text, and transferred to a
PC, or emailed to head office. All invoices are printed as plain
text.
Scan Barcodes
Scan barcodes using any keyboard wedge scanner. Orders can be
scanned as often as necessary. Scan an order once to create it,
again to pick it, and again in front of the customer.
Capture Signatures
Customers can sign directly onto the touch-screen, using a stylus.
Signatures are stored in the database, and can be converted to
bitmaps on the desktop.
Compact Framework
Vanguard uses the .Net Compact Framework. Microsoft recommends that
all business applications for the Pocket PC should use this
platform.
Powerful Database
Vanguard uses the powerful and highly scalable Microsoft SQL Server
CE database. You can easily manage thousands of customers, products
and orders on your Pocket PC.
Choice of Desktop
Vanguard offers a choice of desktop environments, from CSV files
for single users to an SQL Server database for enterprise users.
There is also a Microsoft Access desktop for small groups of users.
All desktop software is free, and open source.
Logo Certified
Vanguard has been tested, and found to meet all the requirements of
the Microsoft Designed for Windows Mobile Logo Program.
Free Upgrades
All upgrades are free, throughout the lifetime of your device.

Vanguard comes with a comprehensive 50 page user manual, written in
Microsoft Word.
