MP3 Butcher is an audio tool that allows you to cut pieces of MP3 audio files or to record sounds directly to the mp3 format.
This audio tool lets you cut or trim any pieces of MPEG audio files with high precision (up to single frame). The cut pieces can be also connected together into a new file.
The program is optimized and capable of processing huge files (even up to 4GB) which is useful specially for processing concerts, vinyls etc.
MP3 Butcher is able to record directly to an mp3 file using the Lame encoder (which is included together with the program) or using the Fraunhofer codec. This feature has been significantly optimized to work with slow processors. The program converts to mp3 in real time, when it's impossible (when processor is busy) makes a buffer on hard disk preventing continuous recording.
The whole tool has been designed to enable you record a few hours from your favourite radio station and then make separated tracks (without commercials etc.)
MP3 Butcher launched in advanced mode treats the fragments of mp3 files as so-called "nodes". The connections between nodes can make an audio mix. In any moment user may reconnect nodes or temporarily exclude them from the mix. At the beginning user must define parameters of the node as: source file (any mp3), start point and stop point (in relation to source file), volume, balans, speed etc. You can play selected nodes with earlier established sequence or start from selected node.
So the created node may be cloned by copy/paste function. Connected nodes allow to use fade in or fade out options. The fades option is possible only during play back.
It accepts your own scripts and also has frame editor. Mp3 Butcher can use scripts to accelerate frequently repetitive activities. You can ie. split a big file into 74 minut pieces to order burn an audio CD's. Mp3 butcher's scripts are regular text files so they can be edited in notepad and later proccessed by the program. Scripts should have .rzs extention.
