Description:
OutWit is a Web collection engine for everyone. It runs on your Windows, MacOS or Linux machine and will allow you to browse through and easily grab information, images, contacts or files from the Internet, in just a few clicks.
The question, when looking for anything on the Internet, is two-fold: find the pertinent data and make it usable for your purposes. Both processes can prove extremely time-consuming and both can be vastly improved using OutWit Hub. Originally conceived for researchers and data managers, the program is bringing Web scraping tools to everyone for both business and personal use.
You just have to browse the web for the pages that include the information you are looking for and OutWit will scan the pages to recognize the data structure and format it into tables, allowing you to rate it and easily export it to files, spreadsheets or databases for later use.
In a single interface, OutWit gathers a large series of recognition and extraction features to ease your Web searches and organize your collections. With or without programming or technical knowledge, you can create automatic agents to gather and format the information you seek, display full screen slide shows on any topic in a single click, etc.
The OutWit platform is composed of a kernel, containing the library of functions, and of an API, which will allow you to build and distribute your own original tools —called outfits— using the features of the kernel for specific applications. Each outfit is a small XUL extension, with its own user interface, features, scripts, directory of Web sources.
