ABBYY PDF Transformer is a very good PDF conversion and creation
software. It actually consists of two separate applications:
- The PDF file creator can be used it to convert Microsoft Word,
Excel, HTML and TXT files to PDF files. You can choose file size,
PDF security settings concerning document opening, editing and
printing; compatibility with different versions of Acrobat
Reader.
- The PDF Transformer helps you convert PDF files into Microsoft
Word, Excel, HTML or TXT files. The process is fast and the result
is accurate. You can also preview the PDF before transformation and
edit the settings if necessary.
You can transform the entire document or only the selected pages;
PDFs with incorrect encoding can be converted in normal mode or can
be processed as images.
Pluses: The program integrates in the Microsoft Office
applications, so that you can create a searchable PDF file directly
from within Microsoft Office applications. Windows Explorer
integration which provides quick access to the program.
Drawbacks / flaws:
In conclusion: A very good PDF conversion and transformation
program.
