IconEdit2 is an award-winning, easy-to-use and powerful icon editor and icon maker software that supports various file formats.
You can open or extract icons from ICO, ICL, NIL, EXE, and DLL files and you can convert GIF, TIFF, BMP, JPEG, and PNG files into icons - just by using the same 'Open' command.
You may also capture screen areas and make icons from them - with crop and rotate functions.
IconEdit2 lets you save your work as TrueColor, 256-color, or 16-color ICO (16x16, 24x24, 32x32, 48x48, 64x64, 96x96, 128x128 pixels), as well as GIF, TIFF, BMP, JPEG, or PNG files. You can save the ICO as single- or multi-image files.
IconEdit2 will make your work easier - you can paint, undo/redo, search for icons in your files, and create new icons instantly by capturing screen areas. You can also create and edit buddy icons for AOL Instant Messenger.
You may easily make transparent background for your icon - just use right mouse button in IconEdit2 to paint with "transparent" color. The areas painted with "transparent" color will be transparent in the saved icon.
