Protix 3D Builder contains an intuitive 3D graphics editor with an integrated gaming engine which supports DirectX 8.1 and above. The software engine supports all the features of the hardware engine, including a a ray-trace rendering engine that allows you to create spectacular images for publishing.
Protix 3D Builder also allows you to save a full Visual Studio 8 project of a sample tank game with 3D engine and GUI libraries with a simple to use API.
Protix 3D Builder supports two internal native formats, and many import formats. PXC files (clusters) represent a group of models. A cluster can be exported to a PXO file format, which is a simple text file format that contains all the points, vertices, polygons, textures, and material data.

- Protix 3D Builder renders complex images in a reasonable amount of time.
- Walk into the models directly for full control at the vector and polygon level.
- Full texture map support includes texture grouping over areas of polygons, stretching, flipping U/V coordinates, position changes, skew and much more.
- 3D front creation using your installed fonts allows you to create logos, game or program text fully triangularized with depth.
- Render mode allows you to ray trace any scene. Useful for screenshots and image design.
- Supports a capture mode what can be used to animate any walk to rotation sequence and saved to a .avi video or .jpeg picture sequence
