ShutdownPlus Rolling Restart description
Frees up administrators' time normally spent in scheduling server restarts around users or timeframes. ShutdownPlus Rolling Restart automatically logs off users and restarts terminal servers on a round-robin schedule, by following a hub/spoke model. One server is the controller (hub), which restarts all the member (spoke) servers.
Each member server is restarted, in succession, from the controller server. Before a member server is restarted, logons are disabled on the member server; the member server will wait until all users will be logged off of it before it is restarted.
Here are some key features of "ShutdownPlus Rolling Restart":
· Centrally managed solution for standardized terminal server restarts.
· Frees up administrators' time normally spent in scheduling server restarts around users or timeframes.
· Designed for 24x7 environments.
· Silent Mode restarts terminal servers without affecting users.
· Restarts terminal servers on a round-robin schedule,
· Summary emails can be sent listing the servers that restarted or did not restart.
· Servers that do not restart or are skipped can be retried.
