GeoIPTC description
Get longitude and latitude easy embedded into photos and jpeg files: geocode pic With GeopIPTC you will be able to read the IPTC city information in pictures and get the corresponding coordinates to your photos from several free services and embed this into the pictures in standard tags in a very professional way.
You will also create sets of pictures with all the metadata they contain including geographical tags as KML or KMZ files for a quick view of the selection on map web services. GeoIPTC includes a batch geocoding function to process all pictures or just those selected from a folder. GeoIPTC software supports Exif, XMP and IPTC metadata standards.
Here are some key features of "GeoIPTC":
· Gets full sets of image standard metadata :
· Exif metadata including GPS data
· the legacy IPTC/IIM including the non standard field Location (92) sometimes used with some IPTC editors and important for geocoding
· the new standard IPTC Core data
· Automatically gets longitude/latitude from widely used Geocoding Web Services like Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps or GeoNames.
· Locate automatically images on Maps Services like Google Maps, Yahoo! Maps and MapQuest
· Generate automatically KML or KMZ placemarks and locate single (one image) or multiple (many images) placemarks on Google Earth with full IPTC/IPTC Core metadata
· Set automatically single or multiple images with appropriate Exif GPS coordinates
· Supports JPEG and TIFF image formats
Requirements:
· Internet connection required to access Geocoding Web Services
· Images can be stored on any attached drive including Unix/Linux with Samba
· Exif GPS writing using external program ExifTool (by Phil Harvey) shipped with GeoIPTC
