SwitchWatch is a smart tool that reports the port usage on Cisco switches, allowing you to tidy up all those cables cluttering your patch panels that haven’t been used for months.
How does it work? Its all quite simple really. You enter the application details (ip, user name and password) of your switches, and then a number of days to check for idle ports. It will then go off and query the switches, and give you a report of all the ports that have been inactive for or longer than the time you specified.
Features:
- Should work with all modern Cisco switches (see ios tested list below).
- Easy to read reports, giving you information on all the ports found to be inactive
- Separate sites can be created, so that switches can be grouped together. Reports for different sites are created in separate folders
- Configuration is saved to local file, so you only have to add everything once
NOTE: This version can now be registered for the sum of £10 sterling to lift the 5 ports per switch reporting limit that was in the previous beta version.
Requirements:
- SwitchWatch will run on Windows XP, Vista, 2000,2003 and 2008 server (32bit)
- SwitchWatch requires the Microsoft dotnet 2.0 Framework.
