Burn files and folders, backup and restore files, burn or rip
music, copy CD/DVD/Blu-ray disks, create and burn images and erase
CDs and DVDs with Ashampoo Burning Studio 6. All these modules are
integrated in an extremely user friendly interface suitable for
every user. New featured include: multi-disc file backup and
restore on CDs, DVDs and Blu-Ray discs; create compressed backup
archives with powerful password protection; split archives
automatically across multiple CDs, DVDs or Blu-Ray discs; restore
archive contents to their original locations; integrated Audio CD
ripper; store your audio tracks as WMA or WAV files; new option for
setting the number of copies you want to burn (available for all
disc formats).
Pluses: Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 includes now support for
the exciting new Blu-Ray format with capacities of up to 25
gigabytes per layer. And in case you are in trouble there is an
interactive troubleshooting assistant for solving hardware and
media problems.
Drawbacks / flaws: The is no possibility to create bootable
CDs or import more than one session. The application does not
include a cover designer and doesn't support long names and ISO
levels conversion.
In conclusion: Although it does not include multimedia
players or CD/DVD emulators, Ashampoo Burning Studio 6 is a very
fashionable, cheap and effective application for burning CDs, DVDs
or Blu-ray disks. A good alternative for Nero or Roxio products if
you are only into burning.
