The automatic installer makes easy for user to begin the testing or deployment of PHP/MySQL based applications or scripts on PCs having Windows operating system. The installer sets up a PHP server environment on user Windows machine. This software is provided under a variety of free software licenses. All of them allow you to freely redistribute this software as you received it.The installer only installs the core applications. There are also various modules available to extend the functionality of the software.

The software will be installed by default to c:apache. Under that directory are all of the components including Apache, PHP and MySQL. Apache and MySQL are servers that need to be started in order for them to function. They operate in the background to do their jobs. There are shortcuts in the PHPTriad folder in your start menu to start both of them. Once Apache web server is started, it will remain open in a DOS window. MySQL will flash a DOS window and disappear. Once both servers are started, the user can type in a web browser address bar http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1. These are the loopback addresses for user local computer and are the addresses that can be used to test PHP applications.
