Network Data Protection part 2

In the first chapter I’ve mentioned certain brief solutions for any sort of power shortages. I’ve recommended installing a professional power supply, for protecting your hardware & network data. In this chapter I will refer to UPS interactivity, backup planning and customer support.

Considering the fact that an interactive UPS line is less expensive, you might want to redirect your attention to possible power failures, which can endanger precious data.

Before backing up your data, be sure to have a plan regarding your company’s data backup by saving important information on servers. Different types of backup include: differential backup, which includes files that have changed since the last full backup, incremental backup and full backup. There are flaws and positive things in each type of backup. Whereas full backups require lots of free disk space, incremental backup require few disk space.

Various well know methods can be used for backing up your data: backup tapes, hard drives, removable hard drives, external hard drive etc. The most accurate solution seams an external hard drive, which can be detached and moved to another location. Online backups are widely popular, they offer software backup information and certain service providers offer free trials. The data is compressed, encrypted and sent to a primary storage center.

Finally, if you want to maintain your backup data at a higher level, you should verify the integrity of the data after the backup. Next, you should restore and test your data on vast periods of time. And finally, make it a new year’s resolution to ALWAYS backup your data, regardless of the situation.
