A new Joomla! version (1.5.5) was released on 28 July 2008. This widely used content management system and development framework shows new features and many bugs fixes in the version 1.5.5. The major error of duplicate titles that affected the content view in version 1.5.4 was solved in this new Joomla! release.

As a consequence, the page title will be present on articles if the next three conditions are true simultaneously: the Article Layout is employed to show the article, a parameter value exists for Page Title and the Show Page Title is set to Yes value.

Other errors were also fixed like search restriction only to article content, SEF URLs optimization, read more fixes and more. Regarding the SEF URLs improvements, the existing Joomla! websites prior to 1.5.5 should not experience problems during the update process.

Before performing the upgrade for a live website is recommended to test the process first with a website similar in structure with the one corresponding to the live website.
