A new version of PrestaShop (1.0 Final) shopping cart software is available for free download. The PrestaShop application is PHP/MySQL based and can be used on Windows, MacOS or Linux operating systems.

The PrestaShop open-source ecommerce solution allows the creation of virtual stores supporting unlimited categories, products, multilanguage support, inventory management and more. There are also available many types of payment methods and multiple front-end customization options.

PrestaShop is scalable based on a modular architecture and as a consequence the front-end functionalities are controlled by enabling or disabling certain modules in the administration panel.

PrestaShop application, despite of its technical complexity is very lightweight ( aproximately 5.5 MB), easy to install and use and the update can be performed by following simple and rapid procedures.

The President of PrestaShop, Igor Schlumberger stated:”Customers love PrestaShop because its smooth, Web-2.0 interface is pleasant to shop on. And software developers love PrestaShop because it’s easy to integrate and because the user community is very active and helpful–for example, PrestaShop users have already translated PrestaShop into over 20 different languages, and it’s only at version 1.0.”
