The Future of Web Browsing Shown By Concept Series From Mozilla Labs
The future of Internet technology and web browsers is “predicted” by the new concept series project initiated by Mozilla Labs. In this project can participate people interested in sharing ideas that will help the discovery of new development directions for Firefox, Mozilla project and other web related topics in a pure scientific atmosphere of a virtual laboratory at Mozilla Labs website.
The concepts include ideas, mockups and prototypes. The ideas could be anything that represent a starting point in a technology issue development process. The mockups represent the transformation of ideas in a form that can be used for presentation as pictures, videos and others. Finally, the prototypes will be the materialisation of ideas in the product or web related technology development process – a dynamic insight to select the best alternative as a result of experiences.
One of the inaugural concepts, Aurora shows a possible direction of evolution of web technology and the way of people interact with the web based information through a browser. The Aurora concept video created by Adaptive Path in collaboration with Mozilla Labs is available on Adaptive Path, LLC website. Other inaugural concepts are Bookmarking and History Concept (a study of interaction nature between user and browser during the bookmarks and history management and visualisation process) and respectively the Mobile Concept – a new user interface for Firefox Mobile.
The submission of concepts is accepted only if Creative Commons License or the Mozilla Public License terms are respected in the case of Ideas and Mockups, respectively Prototypes. By the development and promotion of the Concept Series project, Mozilla labs could bring the future of new Internet and browsers technologies in the present days changing radically the user experience and the current trends.
