Free Download The New uTorrent Version 1.8: Improve Your Experience of Peer-To-Peer Files Sharing

A new stable version (1.8) of one of the most downloaded BitTorrent clients, uTorrent has been released after a year of development and testing. This new version comes with major improvements and new features that are expected to exist in any BitTorrent client. Among the most notable features implemented in the 1.8 version are the built-in support for Teredo tunneling and IPv6.

Other new features are: the possibility to display RSS feeds automatically updated from torrent trackers sites, advanced disk cache management with the option to disable or enable Windows caching, magnet URI support, an optimized registration of Windows firewall in case of Vista, a better proxy support and more.

Despite of its low file size of executable, respectively of the installation directory (less than 300 kB), uTorrent offers all the features existing in other similar software applications, and even more. It does not influence the operating system processes that take place while it running, because the memory consumption is reduced to minimum.

uTorrent is a client that does not have complex requirements regarding the operating system or hardware. The minimum requirements are Windows 95 operating system installed on a 486 with at least 14MB of RAM and with the Winsock2 updated. It also works on any other modern Windows version, as well as on a few Linux distributions by using virtualization software like Wine or Cedega.

A MacOS version of uTorrent BitTorrent client is announced to be released in the near future, while a Linux compatible one is not planned yet. If you want to update an older uTorrent installation, the latest version of uTorrent is available for free download.
