Squish Provides Support For Web Applications Running in Firefox 3.0
froglogic GmbH recently announced (2008-08-12) the availability of Squish support for web based applications rendered by the new Firefox 3.0 version. Squish for Web is a GUI (Graphical User Interface) and web applications testing tool suitable to investigate various aspects regarding the behavior of HTML and AJAX applications in different browsers across many operating systems.
Squish for Web provides the developer the possibility to test web based applications in Microsoft Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Safari and Konqueror on all common operating systems and platforms like Windows, MacOS and Linux. The main advantage is represented by the independence of the testing scripts of the browsers and operating systems. As a consequence, the same testing script can be used in any situation.
The support for testing web applications in Firefox 3.0 browser has been implemented in the latest Squish version (3.4.1).
Andreas Pakulat, Squish for Web team leader at froglogic stated:”One of Squish for Web’s main advantages is the possibility to run the same test scripts accross all popular Web browsers and platforms to not only automatically testing the web application’s functionality but to also automatically ensuring correct behavior accross different browsers. Therefor it is important for us to quickly provide our customers with support for new web browser versions as soon as they become available”.
The Squish testing framework allows the developer to perform tests with the help of various modern scripting languages like Python, Perl, JavaScript and more. In order to try the application functionality and features, it can be downloaded from the froglogic website.
