The First Card With 4GB Graphics Memory: NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800
NVIDIA Corporation released a new professional solution for advanced visual computing: NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 graphics card. It is the first card that offers 4GB of graphics memory, making possible the visualization and interpretation of high amount of data on desktop computers.
Jeff Brown, general manager of Professional Solutions at NVIDIA Corporation motivates the need of a powerful visualization solution as demanded by the data complexity: ”The size and complexity of data is growing at an exponential rate. The challenge for today’s professional is to make sense of the mountain of data by distilling it into a form they can comprehend, analyze and use to make impactful decisions. At stake can be billions of investment dollars, or even people’s lives. The Quadro FX 5800 has advanced features to allow massive datasets to be viewed beyond traditional 3D enabling professionals to make fast and accurate decisions.”
The NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 graphics card contains 240 CUDA parallel processing cores and could be used in medical imaging, design or scientific visualization area, when large datasets needs to be accurately processed in a short time.
The amount of graphics memory (with several order of magnitude higher than other video cards currently available on the market) allows for interactive 4D modelling with time lapse capabilities. GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) true 10-bit color enables billions color variations for an enhanced image quality, characterized by an increased degree of precision.
Other features of NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 graphics card are: memory bandwidth of up to 102 GB per second, OpenGL and Microsoft DirectX 10 software compliance, multi-device visualization environments with Quadro G-Sync II and more.
The NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 graphics card is available for the price of $3499 USD. NVIDIA Quadro FX 5800 technology will definitely change the actual perception regarding 3D visualizations at the desktop level, by moving it one step further through new unique features and functionality.
