Flash Media Server 3.5 From Adobe Will Enhance Web Based Multimedia Experience
Adobe Systems Incorporated has made available two elements of Adobe Flash Platform: Flash Media Interactive Server version 3.5 and Flash Media Streaming Server version 3.5. The new software was presented at Adobe MAX North America in San Francisco and provides enhanced methods for publishers to present interactive media over the Internet.
Regarding the popularity of Adobe Flash Platform, Jim Guerard, vice president and general manager of Dynamic Media at Adobe stated: “The Adobe Flash Platform is taking the media world by storm and transforming the way content is delivered and consumed. Immersive user experiences attract new audiences and help publishers to more effectively build businesses around their unique content. Thanks to the Flash Platform, viewers worldwide can look forward to even more content coming online and being able to view it across different browsers, operating systems and devices.”
Flash Media Server 3.5 software comes with new features, such as dynamic streaming, enhanced support for H.264 video files, improved content security and more. Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 provides also the possibility to pause and seek within a live stream and multi-point publishing based on the integrated Digital Video Recorder functionality.
Adobe Flash Player is present over 98 percent of computers connected to the Internet, while 81 percent of video published online are made with the help of Adobe Flash technology. The need for reliable server solutions to provide a good quality for end user viewing experience will be full-filled by the new versions of Flash Media Server software.
Adobe Flash Media Streaming Server 3.5 costs US$995, while Adobe Flash Media Interactive Server 3.5 has a price of US$4,500. Both products will be available for public at the beginning of year 2009.
