How To Deploy VMware Player On Windows XP
VMware Player is a free Windows and Linux utility that allows you to run multiple operating systems in the same time on your personal computer. It provides a free virtualization solution for any Windows desktop.
As a consequence, the user will be able to use any virtual machine made with VMware Workstation, Microsoft Virtual PC, VMware Server or other related software. VMware Player helps users to test preconfigured software products (virtual appliances) without the need to install or configure them.
If you want to install VMware Player on Windows XP, first you will have to download it. In order to access the direct download link, a registration form must be filled in all required fields and the License Agreement must also be accepted. From the new browser window, you must select the VMware Player distribution package for Windows operating system by clicking the download link.
After the download process is finished, by double clicking on the VMware Player installer icon, you will see a window like the next one:
As the installation wizard guides you, press the next button. In the new window, you can change the default location of the directory where VMware Player will be installed:
In the next step, you can choose the location of program icons (Desktop, Quick Launch Toolbar or Start Menu Programs Folder):
By pressing the Install button, the application will be installed in the folder specified in step two:
Then you must wait until the automatic installer finish all the necessary operations:
If you will see this window, the installation process has ended successfully (without errors):
After the computer restart (a required operation in order to run VMware Player for the first time), by double clicking the corresponding icon for launching of VMware Player, you must accept the License Agreement and then, you will see the graphical user interface of the application which is ready to run various software in compatible virtual machines:
