Search.io Simplifies The Searching of Information Through A Tabbed Interface

Most of the Internet users begin the navigation of various websites by performing search queries in the favorite search engine. Many modern web browsers provide the possibility to search a certain
information across existing websites by selecting the desired search engine with a single mouse click, like Firexox for example.

But in this case, the search results are displayed into one window and their relevancy regarding the desired topic defined by a keyword or a key phrase may often require the refining of the search process.

Search.io changes the traditional concept of web searching by unifying an impressive number of search engines in a tabbed interface. As a consequence a single query is performed for multiple websites simultaneously and the results are displayed in tabs grouped by category.

The default category (Search Engines) allows user to get search results separated by tabs, from different popular search engines, such as Google, Microsoft Live Search, AOL, Yahoo Search and more in the same browser window.

The categories can be changed in order to conduct searches in another specific set of search engines for music, blogs, books, news, lyrics and more. For every category, the search results will be also displayed in tabs corresponding to a particular search engine.

The navigation between tabs is enhanced by the existence of keyboard shortcuts (ALT+”tab number”) therefore the access to certain search results is quick. Search.io service also offers reports of the latest searches, allowing users to repeat them with a single mouse click based on the previously used phrases.

The advantage of this service is obvious: the time needed to perform various Internet searches is reduced through the gathering of results given by different engines in the same window and organized in tabs. Practically, the user will obtain a higher amount of relevant information related only to a certain type of content in less time as compared with traditional search options.
