Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 Introduces Private Browsing Mode
The second beta release of Mozilla Firefox 3.1 browser is available for testing. As compared with the previous releases, it contains new notable features and shows an increased performance, a better compatibility with the modern web applications and an improved speed of web pages rendering.
Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 is powered by Gecko 1.9.1 rendering engine which will determine the gaining of lower values for web pages loading time through speculative parsing. Another major feature of this release is represented by the Private Browsing option, available via the main menu in the Tools section.
The Private Browsing mode allows users to surf the web anonymously, from the point of view of browsing data storage in history, cache and cookies. As a consequence, the traces left by the user surfing activity will no longer be recorded by the browser when Private Browsing is enabled. Even more, Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 provides modalities to erase the history content by time and all traces determined by the browsing of a certain web site.
In this release of Firefox browser, support for the current web development technologies is also implemented. Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 is able to manage and tags, W3C Geolocation API, CSS 3 specifications and more. TraceMonkey JavaScript engine (beta 2 version) is on by default, in comparison with the previous Firefox version.
Regarding the localization options, Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 is available for free download in 54 languages. It can be downloaded for Windows, Linux and MacOS operating systems. The installation of Firefox 3.1 Beta 2 will not influence the settings of an existing version of Firefox web browser, but certain add-ons could not work properly. Firefox 3.1 Beta 3 version will be released in February, 2009.
