MySpace Adds Google Friend Connect On Vodafone And Netvibes Networks Through MySpaceID
MySpace, the most popular social networking service in the world, released new products in the suite MySpace Open Platform: MySpace Application Platform, MySpaceID and Post-To MySpace. The partnership between MySpace and Vodafone will improve the user experience of performing various web based social activities with the help of mobile devices connected to the Internet through the high-speed Vodafone 3G network.
MySpaceID offers support for Google Friend Connect, a web based service from Google, that allows the implementation of social networking features into any existing website. MySpaceID includes Open Standards (OpenSocial, OAuth, and OpenID) and Google Friend Connect, providing the following benefits: MySpace profile data can be connected to partner sites (registration with MySpace URL is also possible) and in the same time the activities performed on those sites are available for publishing on MySpace.
MySpace applications are easy to create and implement because they can be built with popular programming languages such as JavaScript and Flash. For example, on the MySpace Developer Platform official website, there is presented the mechanism of interaction between OpenSocial, JavaScript and ActionScript 3.
By integration of the ActionScript and JavaScript code into a single Flash Video (FLV) file, the resulting MySpace application will show an increased security and performance level. Through a MySpace application the user will be able to publish content to a certain inbox, play games in multi-player mode and more.
Netvibes will also add MySpaceID to the start page in order to facilitate users a rapid modality of connection and information sharing on MySpace social network. The extension of MySpace to a larger scale with MySpaceID will improve the inter-connectivity capabilities across many different social networks, operating systems and platforms and will simplify the development of certain web applications.
