AMD Neo Processor Will Be Included Into HP Pavilion dv2 Ultrathin Notebooks
HP Pavilion dv2 is an ultrathin notebook having less than one-inch thick and four pounds weight. It will be equipped with a new AMD platform (codenamed “Yukon”) based on an AMD Athlon Neo processor and ATI Radeon X1250 integrated graphics (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3410 discrete graphics is optional).
In the same time, HP Pavilion dv2 provides a LED BrightView display (12.1 inch diagonal) and optional an external optical drive compatible with Blue-ray disks.
Regarding the benefits of an optimal performance / price ratio of the ultrathin notebooks, Chris Cloran, corporate vice president, client division, AMD stated: “ Before today, there was a compromise associated with selecting a highly portable notebook, forcing consumers to choose either the full PC experience of an ultraportable at a high price or the limited PC experience of a mininotebook at a low price. In introducing the AMD ultrathin notebook platform, AMD enables balanced PC performance, including the option of advanced graphics and video for true HD entertainment, all in an affordable, ultrathin notebook, bringing consumers uncompromised mobility.”
This notebook will also provide full options for users entertainment needs, such as images and video playback and processing, gaming and more.
Practically, the inclusion of this AMD platform into HP Pavilion dv2 ultrathin notebooks will allow users to experience true HD entertainment with a smooth 1080p HD playback. The optional ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3410 discrete graphics enable realistic 3D graphics capabilities, which will generate a better gaming experience.
By its unique rich media features, this portable notebook will be capable to offer all consumers the possibility to obtain the desired performance in case of any software application or operating system. HP Pavilion dv2 Entertainment Notebook PC will be available for buying in April 2009, starting from the price of $699.
