A Higher Battery Life For The New 17-inch MacBook Pro
Apple Inc. announced the availability of a new Mac notebook, the 17-inch MacBook Pro. Beside a high resolution LED-backlit display, NVIDIA powered graphics, Intel Core 2 Duo processor running at a frequency up to 2.93 GHz, the battery operates up to 8 hours corresponding to a single charge and its lifetime is guaranteed for a number of 1000 times of recharges, as compared with other notebooks.
The battery is made from custom lithium-polymer cells and is integrated directly into the computer in order to eliminate the space consumed by housings required in case of standard batteries. The new battery is bigger with 40 % than the ones from the previous generation and has a higher number of recharging cycles.
The recharging performance is based on the Adaptive Charging technology (developed by Apple): a microchip determines the optimal value of the current and adjust it as a function of various influencing factors and conditions.
The notebook display can provide a resolution of 1920×1200 pixel, vibrant colors, a high contrast ratio and more. The graphics are handled by an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor.
This new 17-inch MacBook Pro is a premiere in the notebooks market, from the point of view of its dimensions and mass: 0.98 inch thin and 6.6 pounds. The information storage possibilities and RAM are also notable: a 320 GB hard drive and up to 8GB of 1066MHz DDR3 memory. The 17-inch MacBook Pro can be bought at the same price as the previous generation model.
