AdSense Ads Are Not Compatible With Content Copied From Other Websites
AdSense is a well known ads publishing service from Google, which allows webmasters to display text and image ads relevant to their website content and as a consequence to earn money based on the number of clicks or impressions generated by the visitors. The ads publishing is automatic by the inclusion of a certain JavaScript into the website pages. The only problem is represented by the fact that you are not allowed to display AdSense ads on web pages having content copied from other websites.
Considering the situation in which you have discovered the republishing of copyrighted content without the owner permission, on websites monetized with Google AdSense, there is recommended to follow the steps described in Google Help Center in order to report the copyright infringement.
The reported infringement must comply with Digital Millennium Copyright Act and other licenses which protect the author rights. The most important aspect in the reporting of the copyright infringement is underlined in a recent post of the Google AdSense blog: “ The notice should be sent directly from the owner of the copyrighted materials allegedly being infringed, as we are unable to accept third-party copyright complaints”.
In every situation when a copyrighted content is republished without author consent on other websites, the appropriate actions will be taken by Google (the AdSense service provider). More information regarding the Google position in such situations are presented here.
In conclusion, if you own a website and monetize your web pages with Google AdSense ads, is a good idea to carefully select the content owned by other authors in order to republish it, because unpleasant consequences could appear, starting with the interdiction of using AdSense and ending with the website URL removal from Google index (website banning).
