Recently, Mozilla Firefox web browser has been updated from version 3.0.7 to version 3.0.8 in a new development step further to Firefox 3.5 (Firefox 3.1, code named Shiretoko will become Firefox 3.5, because the version 3.1 will be renumbered to 3.5, according to Mozilla official website). Firefox 3.0.8 includes security fixes for two critical issues, representing vulnerabilities capable to allow an attacker to run code and install various software, without the need of the computer owner participation. The long waited Beta version of the popular Linux distribution Ubuntu, Ubuntu 9.04 Beta was finally arrived. It has many new features since Ubuntu 8.10: GNOME 2.26 desktop, X.Org server 1.6, an improved boot performance, Linux kernel 2.6.28, Ext4 file system support, cloud computing and turn-key mail servers. Ubuntu 9.04 Beta is intended only for testing and as a consequence it is not suitable for usage on production machines.
Due to a minor impact, the AdSense video units feature will no longer be available for new publishers. Based on this AdSense feature, the publishers were allowed to display YouTube videos and ads on their web pages. In the same time, AdSense for video is provided for the publishers of video content and the video ads will still be delivered through Google AdSense, if the publishers have enabled the option to display image ads in the AdSense for content units.

A new stable version of the one of the most flexible Linux distributions, Puppy Linux was just released. Puppy Linux 4.2 has almost 100 MB (99.99 MB precisely) in size, corresponding to the Standard Edition, while the Retro Edition has exactly 100 MB, these values being targeted with the purpose of keeping the distribution lightweight. Now, the users have the possibility to choose between two window managers: IceWM or JVM, while extra themes including Clearlooks Gtk+2 theme engine are also available.
