Google Expandable Ads: Rich Media Content For AdSense Enabled Websites
Google AdSense, the ads publishing service addressed to website owners will deliver a new type of ads: expandable ads. They contains rich media, like movie trailers or video game clips and have the property to expand over the initial size of the ad unit after the users clicks on it (the mouse over action will not perform the ad triggering).
The expandable ads will be published as third-party ads having a price reflected in the cost-per-click (CPC) or cost-per-impression (CPM) values. On the AdSense official blog, there is underlined the fact that you will receive earnings from the clicks effectuated in case of expandable ads only if the user will visit the landing page of the advertiser.
The expandable ads will not modify your current website layout or influence the user experience while browsing (the expanded ad can be closed in any moment by the user).
In order to have expandable ads published into your website pages, you will have to use the same AdSense code generated for the image ads units. The Competitive Ad filter, Ad Review Center and other Google AdSense related tools can be employed to manage the expandable ads.
The ads are natively expandable, without the need of installation of third party codes or plugins for your website. Currently, the expandable ads are offered only to US advertisers. Google AdSense is a recommended choice for monetizing your website, as well as for the constant addition of fresh content to the web pages.
