DiggBar Improves The Social Networking Experience
On Digg’s official blog, Kevin Rose has announced the launching of a new product, called DiggBar. This utility will allow to the Digg users to better perform common tasks, like sharing stories, reading comments published for a “dugg” article, rapidly finding related Digg news and more. On the other hand, the DiggBar will automatically generate a short URL for the currently viewed web page, therefore you will be able to easily share the same story through email or different social networks, such as Twitter or Facebook.
One of the main advantages of DiggBar is obvious: the users do not have to leave the current web page in order to share an interesting article or resource on Digg. By employing a DiggBar instance (just type in http://digg.com/ in front of any URL in the address bar), you can vote or promote a story only clicking the corresponding button situated in the upper left of the main browser window.
Also, the DiggBar contains buttons to display Related Stories, more articles published on Digg from the same source site or a random Digg article, as well as statistics regarding the number of views in case of a certain story.
Besides the quick method to generate a DiggBar, by adding the http://digg.com/ to the current web page URL, you can integrate DiggBar into your existing web browser as a bookmarklet: when clicked, the newly created bookmark will load the desired page having the DiggBar at the top of it.
