Google Profiles Have A Better Transparency In Search Results Pages
In a previous article there was presented the details of the recent update of Google Profiles services, as well as the advantages of having defined a profile for the regular Internet user. Now, Google made easier the search and display of users profiles by showing Google profile results right at the bottom of U.S. search results pages corresponding to a query formed by an user name. The Google Profiles search results based on a query containing an user name contain a short information about an existing profile, as well as the links to the page of complete profile.
“To give you greater control over what people find when they search for your name, we’ve begun to show Google profile results at the bottom of U.S. name-query search pages. These results offer abbreviated information from user-created Google profiles and a link to the full profiles.”
In the same time, there were added links to MySpace, Facebook, Classmates and LinkedIn in order to simplify the search of the same user profile on these websites.
If you did not created a Google Profile yet, by performing a Google search based on the keyword “me”, on the search results page at the top, will be displayed the necessary instructions to make a valid Google Profile.
If a user will define a Google Profile, it is recommended to add information about itself in all fields to ensure the eligibility criteria required in order to be featured in Google Search results.
As a consequence, if you get the next message, the Google Profile must be updated according to the specific requirements: “Your profile is not yet eligible to be featured in Google search results. To have your profile featured, add more information about yourself.”
