This morning, when I needed to download the latest version of Microsoft .NET, the browser returned a notification window, rarely seen in case of the Redmond giant official website: “Firefox Can’t Find The Server At www.microsoft.com”. It seems that the entire Microsoft website server is down, at least for the time while I have tried to perform a successful HTTP request for www.microsoft.com URL (at least 2 hours). Did Microsoft just simply vanished?

There are many possible causes, like the server overload due to a high number of requests for the newly released Windows 7 Release Candidate.

For those of you that did not downloaded Windows 7 Release Candidate yet, torrent links could be the best alternative right now.
