Uberplayer: A Media Player Made With JavaScript
Starting from the idea of focusing user attention only over the playback of a movie published inside a web page, Paul Bakaus has made a media player called Uberplayer and coded with JavaScript, that does not show unnecessary elements during the video file playback. If an user runs a movie within Uberplayer, only a search interface and video information are shown at the top of the graphical interface. Uberplayer provides slide-in elements for controlling the video with the help of the mouse or keyboard.
According to Paul Bakaus blog post about Uberplayer, “Every function or visibility can be controlled through either the mouse or the keyboard. At initialization and pause, all controls are automatically shown, since you’re not focussing on the video. During video playback, move your mouse towards the bottom and the search slides in – move it to the top and you’ll see current video information and the search bar.”
Uberplayer also integrates Coverflow plugin which adds a coverflow like effect to the thumbnails situated at the bottom, when the user searches for videos. In order to enjoy this coverflow effect, you will have to use a webkit enabled browser.
Uberplayer uses YouTube JSON API and as a consequence it does not require the installation of server side software (it works only on client side based on JavaScript). You can find more information about Uberplayer on this website.

-Automatically generates hash urls that you can bookmark or send to someone – they will not only open the movie, but also the attached search results
