Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Tool Kit Is Out
Just released by Microsoft, Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Tool Kit allows you to create applications for Windows Mobile 6.5. It integrates into Visual Studio the necessary documentation, sample code, header and library files, emulator images and tools. Windows Mobile 6 SDK is also required in order to use the new Windows Mobile 6.5 Gesture API or samples.
“A new set of APIs is being introduced that will enable application developers to take advantage of the new Windows Mobile 6.5 touch gesture framework. The gesture APIs allow an application to handle touch gesture input and provide a visually consistent experience with the rest of the device UI.”, is explained into the Windows 6.5 Developer Tool Kit description.
Only Windows Mobile Classic and Professional SKUs offers support for the new APIs. The samples included into Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Tool Kit that are calling these APIs can be found in the Samples directory.

Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Tool Kit is available for free download from Microsoft website. It requires one of the following operating systems: Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2, Windows Vista or Windows XP Service Pack 3.
