Please Don’t Download Chrome Builds For Mac And Linux
Anyone that has waited the day in which the Mac OS X and Linux versions of Google Chrome web browser will be available for download, now can download the early developer channel versions. The main problem is represented by the fact that you will cannot view YouTube videos, change privacy settings or print a web page.
Mike Smith and Karen Grunberg, Product Managers explain on The Chromium Blog why a regular user should not download this early versions of Google Chrome for Mac OS X and Linux, because at this stage of development the browser is still incomplete: “you won’t yet be able to view YouTube videos, change your privacy settings, set your default search provider, or even print.”
“Whatever you do, please DON’T DOWNLOAD THEM! Unless of course you are a developer or take great pleasure in incomplete, unpredictable, and potentially crashing software.”, added Mike Smith and Karen Grunberg.
As we have mentioned in a previous article, Windows Vista and XP SP 2 users are allowed to download Google Chrome Beta from a supplementary channel, alongside the existing two download channels, corresponding to the development and stable browser version.
In the same time, users are ensured that a beta version of Google Chrome for Mac OS X and Linux will be released in the near future. The latest stable version of Google Chrome for Windows is available from Downloadtube.com.
