Safari 4 Is Faster Than IE 8 And Firefox
In February 2009, Apple has introduced Safari 4 beta, as being the fastest web browser for any operating system. Recently, the beta label has been removed and the stable version of the Safari 4 browser was made available for Mac OS X and Windows computers. It has many new innovative features and is compliant with the modern web standards.
As we have already mentioned in a previous article, Safari’s Javascript engine is eight times faster than Internet Explorer 8 and four times faster than Firefox 3. In the same time, the HTML content is rendered with higher speed as compared with Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.
In Mac OS X Snow Leopard, the Nitro engine has the performance increased with 50 percent, because the browser runs as a 64-bit application.
Safari 4 will deliver an entire new experience for the Internet user with navigation features like Top Sites, Cover Flow and Full History Search. Windows users will get the native look and feel through the native title bar, borders and toolbars.
Safari web browser can be freely downloaded by Mac OS X and Windows users. It requires a minimum of 256 MB memory, but the performance will be influenced mainly by the processor frequency (a higher value is better), overall computer configuration and Internet connection speed.
