Out Of Beta, Acrobat.com Has A Spreadsheet-Like Application: Tables
According to the official announcement made by Adobe, Acrobat.com, a web based service similar with Google Docs, has just leaved the public beta stage. Acrobat.com is already established as a reference among online collaboration services and it will offer two new paid subscription services, alongside the preview release of an application intended for spreadsheets management, Acrobat.com Tables.
The new Premium subscription services (Basic and Plus) give a higher meeting capacity for ConnectNow Web ( for five and respectively twenty participants) and allow the online creation of PDF documents for more files per month.
The free Acrobat.com service will still continue to provide word processing with Adobe Buzzword, a meeting capacity of three participants and the possibility to convert up to five PDF files per month.
Acrobat.com Tables spreadsheet like application is available for free as public beta. It is built on Adobe Flash platform and simplifies the management of information such as lists, contacts or schedules in simple databases or spreadsheats.
In the Acrobat.com Tables description there are underlined the main tasks that could be performed by using this Flash application:
-Easily work with others on the same table at the same time. With simultaneous editing, no one is locked out of the table while others are making changes.
-Simplify collaboration. No need to combine multiple versions, e-mail spreadsheets back and forth, or worry about version control, because everyone has access to the latest information, online, all the time.
-Personalize the display of shared data. Use private views to display the information that is important to you, without affecting others who may be viewing or working with the same table.
-Access your data and information from anywhere. Your table is always available online so you and your team can share a data set and add to it regardless of where you are located.
In order to be able to access Acrobat.com Tables, Flash Player 10 and a valid Adobe account is required. The edited data can be easily shared with your team members.
