AdSense Ads Text Font Size Can Be Changed
Back in February 2009, the update of the Google AdSense service introduced the possibility to change the font face of the ads displayed on your web pages. Now, the newly introduced feature of AdSense will allow you to also modify the font size of the text in the ads units. The possibility of changing font size in ad units is limited to the websites having pages written in languages based on Latin characters.
Amy Wu , AdSense Product Manager, explains how will be reflected the ads text font modifications on the web pages: “The font size you choose will be applied to the body of the ad, with the title scaled appropriately. In order to fit the ad text correctly, the actual font size will vary for each format size, font face, and user-specific settings such as browsers and operating systems. In addition, some formats sizes currently have very limited room, so the font size application will be most apparent in cases where the number of ads appearing in your ad units varies automatically in order to maximize your performance.”
The default font for AdSense text ads is set as “small”. When you will define a new ad unit, there will be possible to select the desired size of the font on an account-wide basis in the Ad Display Preference section of the My Account tab or on an individual ad unit basis.
In the near future, the default font of Google ads units text will be changed from “small” to “medium”, because it was proven that a higher value of the font size will result in better conversions. The ad units having set the default AdSense font size will be automatically updated to the “medium” larger font.
