Already announced at Apple’s Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC), the new iPhone OS 3.0 was launched on 2009, June 17th. It is available as a free update for your iPhone via iTunes 8 software. iPhone OS 3.0 will provide you support for the next generation applications designed to run on iPhone mobile devices. For example, iPhone OS 3.0 will allow you to play peer-to-peer games based on compatible applications existing in App Store.

The new version of iPhone OS delivers all the features contained into the previous updates, as well as new ones. From the tons of new features embedded into iPhone OS 3.0, we want to highlight the following:

-Cut, Copy & Paste: Now the user is allowed to rapidly and easily cut, copy, and paste text from an application to another. You can also select an entire blocks of web text with a tap. The copy and paste images from the web functionality is available, too.
-Landscape Keyboard: If you need more room to type, by rotating the iPhone to landscape, a larger keyboard in Mail, Messages, Notes, and Safari can be used.
-MMS: With iPhone OS 3.0, you are enabled to send MMS messages and include video, photos, audio, and contact info.(MMS support from AT&T will be implemented in late summer).
-Spotlight Search: Find what you’re looking for across your iPhone, all from one place. Spotlight searches all of your contacts, email, calendars, and notes, as well as everything in your iPod.

How to install iPhone OS 3.0 Software Update:

-first you will have to install iTunes version 8 software and connect the iPhone to the computer.
-in the second step, you must select your iPhone listed under the Devices list.
-by clicking the Check for Update button in the iPhone Summary pane and then, by selecting Download and Install option, the installation will begin and will take place automatically.
-the iPhone device must not be disconnected from your computer until the update process is finished
