It seems that the the antivirus product was renamed by Microsoft, the new name being Microsoft Security Essentials. The software is capable to ensure real-time protection against malware (spyware, rootkits, trojans and more).

During the setup process, the installer will require you to validate your currently installed version of Windows operating system. You should also know that the leaked Microsoft Security Essentials antivirus is a pre-beta version and could still have bugs.

In this way, users with older computers could be able to run this antivirus without affecting overall system performance in a considerable manner.

Regarding the amount of RAM used, Ghacks.net reports: “Microsoft Security Essentials is loading two processes into computer memory after execution. The first is called msseces.exe and uses roughly 8 Megabytes of computer memory, the second on the other hand – called MsMpEng.exe – uses 40 Megabytes by default which can rise to 60 when it becomes active.”
