According to the new Packages&Prices plans, SocialText services can be used for free. SocialText is an online collaboration platform based on social networking principles, which provides social messaging, wiki workspaces with integrated weblogs, distributed spreadsheets, and a personal dashboard for every user. These features are also available through a free desktop client built with Adobe AIR technology. The desktop software is a Rich Internet Application, compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac OS X operating systems and is entitled Socialtext Desktop.
SocialText provides you the opportunity to get a free hosting account for 50 people working in your company. With this hosting plan, each company member will have access to social networking, microblogging, a single wiki workspace with blogs and a personal homepage.

The free plan does not include the SocialCalc, therefore if you need it, for the price of just $6 per user per month, the 50 users limitation can be removed and SocialCalc enabled.
