A New Mobile Platform: Intel And Nokia Partnership
Intel and Nokia will join their efforts to build a new class of Intel based mobile computing devices and chipset architectures. A new mobile platform will be developed in order to enable the creation of various hardware, software and mobile Internet services. Intel and Nokia collaboration will be focused on open source Linux software projects.
Anand Chandrasekher, Intel Corporation senior vice president and general manager, Ultra Mobility Group explains the advantages of Intel And Nokia partnership for obtaining rapid innovations in the field of mobile computing and communications:

The open source Linux software will be used in conjunction with Moblin and Maemo, two powerful Linux based operating systems for mobile devices. The development investments will be targeted for the following technologies: oFono, ConnMan, Mozilla, X.Org, BlueZ, D-BUS, Tracker, GStreamer and PulseAudio.
These open source standards are meant to revolutionize both mobile Internet and communication experience, through rich applications and new multimedia features. The open source projects will be managed according to the actual principles of open source development model.
